Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV)

Currently, the Housing Authority of Douglas County has 686 vouchers provided to low income families. Once an eligible family is issued a voucher for rental assistance, HADCO pays a portion of their rent directly to their landlord. The participant is responsible for approximately 30% - 40% of their adjusted gross income to go towards their rent and utilities. To be eligible for the Section 8 Program one must meet the area median income and eligibility requirements.

Included in this program are 35 HUD VASH vouchers and 5 Home Ownership Vouchers

  • HUDVASH is a Partnership Program with the Roseburg VA Health Care Center where they case manage a group of veterans and HADCO manages the Housing Choice Vouchers allowing the veteran and their family affordable housing in a location of their choice in Douglas County.
  • We currently have 3 families who have graduated from Section 8 Rental Assistance to Section 8 Home Ownership. This program works in close partnership with Rural Housing and Development, local Lending agencies, Umpqua Community Development Programs for first time and low income home ownership programs including Individual Development Accounts (IDA) matching dollars for monies participants save towards home ownership, education or small business development
